Saxophones

IMG_1452.jpg

Thomas Hass is a tenor and soprano saxophonist with roots in the afroamerican jazzsaxophone tradition. He debuted as a recording artist in 1988 with the live recording "Beating Bop" from the legendary jazz club Montmartre in Nørregade with the award-winning quintet Page One. He has since released several albums both as a leader and co-leader together with some of Denmark's most outstanding musicians. He has as a saxophonist with a few detours been predominantly concentrated on interpreting his own compositions in the classical jazz quartet format. But his latest release "The Shortlist" (2022), together with drummer Thomas Blachman, is a tribute to the music of Wayne Shorter as well as his recording "Live at Copenhagen Jazzhouse" from 2008 was partly a tribute to John Coltrane.
